We love the city of Portsmouth

From the people and the art to it's natural beauty and vibrant community, Portsmouth NH is a great city.  And yet, many people feel disconnected from those around them and isolated from the community at large.  While there is a desire to serve alongside others in the community, it is difficult to find an outlet. That's why we started REBUILD Portsmouth.

Rebuild is not community service - it's community renewal.  Our goal is to serve the forgotten parts of the city we love.  As we work side by side with neighbors and friends that we invite, we will see the community rebuilt, not only physically, but relationally and spiritually.

We started REBUILD in 2009 and had a great time repainting the Connie Bean Center and doing much needed landscaping work in some of the local parks.  We are excited about the new ways we will be able to serve the city this year.

Here are some FAQs

Does it cost money?

Nope.  The city is supplying the tools needed to accomplish these projects and we are providing willing volunteers. You don't have to pay anything, but you will get a free pizza lunch, donated by some local restaurants.

What do I wear?

Something you don't mind getting dirty/ruined!

Do I have to live in Portsmouth?

No.  We know that there are a lot of people that live in surrounding towns that love the city and want to help build it up.  We don't discriminate by your address!  If you are in the Seacoast, we'd love to have you serve with us.

Should I bring lunch?

We plan to provide a pizza lunch at each service location, along with some beverages. But if pizza isn't your thing, you may want to bring something else to eat!

Do I have to be a part of Harbor Church?

No! We started REBUILD because we knew there were plenty of Portsmouth residents that wanted to serve but didn't want to be affiliated with a church. At our last REBUILD event, there were a significant number of the participants that have never attended Harbor Church.
